Developing Digital Communication Skills in Tourism

On the morning of 15 November 2024, students from The Faculty of Administration International Economics, Lac Hong University, participated in a thematic seminar entitled “Developing Digital Communication Skills in Tourism.” The program was led by speaker Nguyen Vo Son, Specialist of the Center of Student Admissions and Public Relations. This activity is part of the experiential learning series of the Tourism and Travel Management program, aiming to enhance students’ awareness and equip them with essential skills to meet the increasingly high demands of the tourism industry.

At the seminar, students were introduced by Nguyen Vo Son to numerous important topics, ranging from theory to practice, including:

    • Effective digital communication strategies in tourism: Guidance on identifying target audiences, selecting appropriate platforms, and developing creative content.

    • Application of digital technology in communication: Utilizing digital tools such as artificial intelligence (AI) and Big Data to improve communication effectiveness and personalize customer experiences.

    • Crisis communication management skills: Proposing solutions for handling challenging situations, helping enterprises maintain a positive image in the market.

Beyond listening to the presentations, students also engaged in practical activities through group exercises and discussions, thereby strengthening their ability to apply knowledge in real-life contexts.

The seminar provided many practical values for students. Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, a student of class 22QD111, shared: “This seminar not only broadened my knowledge but also clarified my career orientation in the tourism field. The practical lessons and experiences shared by Mr. Son have strongly inspired me.”

The thematic seminar program not only reaffirmed the training philosophy of closely integrating theory with practice of The Faculty of Administration International Economics but also contributed to shaping students’ future career pathways more clearly. With the goal of educating well-rounded students who are ready to meet the rigorous requirements of the labor market, the Faculty will continue to organize more practical activities of this kind in the coming time.

Valuable experiences from experiential learning programs are not only academic assets but also sources of inspiration for students to confidently pursue their aspirations.
