LHU expands international cooperation through the 5th International Conference on Asian Local Studies

As part of its participation in the 5th International Conference on Asian Local Studies in Penang, Malaysia, the Office of International Affairs of LHU held a number of meetings and discussions with international partners, particularly universities and research institutes from China, opening up potential opportunities for future cooperation.

Specifically, the delegation engaged in in-depth discussions with several prospective partners, including Beijing Union University, Jinan University, Yulin University, as well as local studies research associations in Beijing and Inner Mongolia. These institutions have strong expertise in education and research in culture, languages, and local studies, offering promising opportunities for academic and research collaboration with LHU.

During the meetings, the partners discussed several key areas of cooperation. The first area was to promote student and faculty exchange programs, enabling students and lecturers to gain exposure to international academic environments, enhance their professional expertise, and strengthen their global integration.

Scientific research cooperation was also identified as a key area. The partners agreed to strengthen collaboration on joint research projects, particularly in culture, languages, and local studies, contributing to valuable academic research outputs with real-world applications.

Another important area was the joint organization of short-term training courses and specialized academic exchange programs to meet students’ learning needs, help them develop new skills, and provide them with more international experiences. The partners also expressed their interest in jointly organizing international conferences on local studies in the coming years, with the aim of building a strong and sustainable academic network.

The outcomes of these meetings not only helped consolidate the partnership between LHU and its international partners but also paved the way for new opportunities for development in education and scientific research.
