LHU lecturers visited and experienced at Want Want Vietnam Co., Ltd

On September 22, 2023, three lecturers of the Faculty of Food Science and Technology, LHU together with other faculty leaders and lecturers from universities had a visit and worked with Want Want Vietnam Co., Ltd located in Tien Giang province. The visit was organized by the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Ho Chi Minh City.

According to Mr. Chen Ho Hsien, Head of Education Department, Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in HCM City, this visit aims to bring leaders and lecturers of universities to meet and work with Taiwanese businesses. It also creates the opportunity for the delegation to learn more about Taiwanese businesses in Vietnam in terms of recruitment needs, products, development orientations... and then transfer information to students.

At the visit, Mr. Chen Han Hua - General Director of Want Want Vietnam Co., Ltd. provided the delegation with information about his company's history, philosophy, development process and operations. It has a total investment of 50 million USD, located on an area of about 75,000 m2, with a full capacity of up to 2,000 employees. The Company has many different production lines: 5 for rice crackers and snacks, 2 for ice creams, and 2 for milk drinks.

During the visit, faculty leaders and lecturers from 13 universities directly experienced the modern equipment and production lines as well as tasted the high quality products of the Company. The participants also exchanged opinions with the Company's leaders about products, internships, recruitment and development directions. Lecturers from universities said this activity is extremely necessary and needed to be promoted more. Many universities are currently in the process of being autonomous, rebuilding training programs really need businesses' feedback to make their programs closer to practical needs.

The visit has marked an important step in strengthening and expanding cooperative ties between universities and Taiwanese businesses in Vietnam. Through this program, schools and businesses will have a closer relationship, thereby improving training programs to suit the reality. Lecturers can also introduce students to approach businesses early.
