MoU signing ceremony between LHU and Tongmyong University

On July 5, 2023, LHU held a meeting and signed an educational cooperation agreement with Tongmyong University, Korea.

Tongmyong University was represented by Dr. Chun Ho Hwan – Rector; Prof. Kwoen Joong Rak – Head of International Affairs Office; Mr. Kim Joo Young – Overseas Employment Program Manager. LHU's representatives including Dr. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Thanh Lam – Vice Rector; Dr. Nguyen Huu Nghi - Dean of Faculty of Oriental Studies; Dr. Nguyen Van Tan - Dean of Faculty of Administration - International Economics; Hoang Tien Dung, M.A - Deputy Head of Office of International Affairs; Do Thi Thuy, M.A - Program Head of Korean Studies Department; Nguyen Hoang Kim Ngan, M.A - Department Head of Korean Studies and specialists of the Office of International Affairs warmly welcomed the delegation.

Tongmyong University was established in 1977 in Busan - South Korea, formerly the Tongmyong Institute of Culture and Education. Officially recognized as a private university by the Korean Ministry of Education in 1993, Tongmyong University is located in South District, Busan Port City - the heart of southern Korea. Busan is famous in the Vietnamese student community for its vibrant lifestyle, diverse culture, many high-quality multidisciplinary universities, and numerous employment opportunities after graduation.

At the meeting, the two universities discussed 2+2 joint programs (students will attend the first two years at LHU, then continue their studies at Tongmyong University in Korea for the last two years, receiving two Bachelor degrees). Tongmyong University will support the student's staying and working procedures in Korea after graduation. Korean Studies lecturers will improve their qualifications through teaching method classes organized by the Tongmyong University. Engineering students will participate in international competitions and there will be student exchange programs between the two sides. Each year, the University will prioritize LHU students 2 - 5 scholarships (free tuition and dormitory fees).

In addition, the two sides agreed to sign the MOU on the above cooperation programs.
