LHU opens the external assessment at institutional level, cycle 2

On June 20th, 2023 LHU in cooperation with the Center for Education Accreditation, Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City (VNUHCM) organized the opening session and carried out an official external higher education accreditation based on the education accreditation standards of the Ministry of Education and Training.

This is the second time LHU has carried out the external higher education accreditation according to a 5-year cycle. Previously, in 2017, the University successfully organized the quality accreditation and was the first university in Dong Nai province meeting the education accreditation standards.

Giving the welcome speech at the opening session, DSc. Lam Thanh Hien - Rector of LHU emphasized the role of educational quality accreditation to the University, summarized the self-assessment process of the University, and expressed his thanks to the external evaluation team for deploying the educational quality accreditation in cycle 2 at LHU.

Speaking at the opening session, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam - Director of the Center for Accreditation, VNU-HCM, Head of the external assessment delegation highly appreciated the University's efforts in implementing the self-assessment and the preparation steps for the external assessment, also committed to conduct an objective, transparent, professional and quality evaluation, then giving recommendations to help the University improve its education quality.

The official assessment at LHU will last from the 20th to the 24th of June, 2023. The members of the external assessment team include Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Ngoc Quynh Lam - Director of the Center for Accreditation, VNU-HCM, Head of the assessment delegation; Nguyen Thi Huyen, M.A – Former Director, Center for Educational Excellence, VNUHCM - University of Natural Sciences - Secretary; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Tien Khoa – Rector of VNU-HCM International University - Member; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Huynh Thi Thuy Giang - Vice Rector of VNUHCM-University of Economics and Law - Member; Dr. Le Hoang Dung - Vice Rector of VNUHCM - University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Member; Dr. Nguyen Duy Mong Ha - Head of Department of Testing and Quality Assurance, VNUHCM - University of Social Sciences and Humanities - Member; Mr. Nguyen Huynh Thang - Specialized Secretary; Dr. Le Thi Anh Tu - Head of Quality Management Department, Da Lat University - Observer; and Dong Thi Tuyet Hanh, M.A - Head of Department of Testing, Center of Educational Testing and Evaluation.

After the opening ceremony, the external evaluation team will study reports and evidence, interview various stakeholders such as leaders, lecturers, learners, alumni, employers,... as well as visit and examine facilities such as classrooms, labs, library....
