LHU opens three more undergraduate programs

LHU from May 11 - 13 organized Appraisal Councils for opening three new undergraduate training programs including International Business, Artificial Intelligence and Multimedia Communications. The opening of these academic majors aims to meet the labor market demand for digital transformation in the 4.0 industry era. LHU also plans to enroll students in the three new majors from the 2023 - 2024 academic year.

After going through appraisal and evaluation processes as well as quality assurance conditions, LHU has officially added three more majors to its undergraduate programs: International Business under the Faculty of Administration - International Economics, Artificial Intelligence and Multimedia Communications under the Faculty of Information Technology.

Over the past 25 years, LHU has provided thousands of bachelors, engineers, masters and PhDs to serve the development of the locality and neighboring provinces. Its training programs cover a wide range of economic, engineering, language, and health groups. So far, LHU has had 10 undergraduate training programs meeting the AUN-QA standards and two programs assessed in accordance with ABET standards. In which, the Faculty of Information Technology and the Faculty of Administration - International Economics have training programs that meet this accreditation standard.

Mr. Tran Anh Tuan, HR forecaster, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Vietnam Institute of Human Resource Development and Training, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Vocational Education Association said that "Opening new programs is inevitable when a university gains autonomy. This is to meet the increasing human resource needs in the integration process and the industrial revolution 4.0. It also makes it easier for universities to attract more students. That universities open more training programs also aims to offer more specific and attractive careers, associated with the development of the technological economy, the digital economy, especially the fields of artificial intelligence, engineering technology and e-commerce”.

For LHU, the opening of new majors not only benefits its student enrollment, but also actually meets social requirements, thereby creating more choices for candidates, also helping the University attract more students.

Through appraisal sessions, members of the Council generally agreed on the following points: well-prepared program, full foundation, clear objectives, consistent output standards, appropriate basic program structures, rich and comprehensive training contents. The Council members also gave comments to the Editorial Board to further improve the curricula.

Thus, from the academic year 2023-2024, in addition to 21 current majors, LHU will enroll students in International Business, Artificial Intelligence and Multimedia Communications.
